HISTORICAL
Melbourne gives you the impression to be back sometimes to the XIXth Century. It has kept a charm of the past. It’s a mix of Victorian and Modern style. The Central Business District and Southbank are the Center of the city and their skyscrappers (Eureka Tower) are very creative. Don’t miss Federation Square near the river Yara where you will discover the Ian Potter Center, an art gallery. Next you have the Saint-Paul Cathedral (neo gotic) and the Finders Street Station. Back again to the XIXth Century! Historical Tram there for a tour (City Circle Tram).
EUROPEAN
Much more than Sydney Melbourne with its galleries, its small streets, it’s atmosphere has kept the traces of the time of the arrivals of the Europeans. Do not miss the Block Arcade Victorian style and its good shoping places.
STORY
I tell you a story. I had pictures of some ancestors of mine who established themselves in Australia some 200 years ago.
On the photos of that time the adress of the photographer was indicated at the back. I took one (see picture) of them with me and went to the adress but the photographer (oh ! surprise) has disappeared and had been replaced by a big building.

FUN
There is a life around the river Yara and a lot of activities on both side of the river which are pretty well organised. Have a look at the Evan Walker Bridge Amazing!
The weather can be quite warm and everyone enjoy swimming and kayaking.
CHIC
the galleries give a touch of chic to the city and you feel Melbourne had and still have a good vibe.
APPOLO BAY
We rent a car and went to the pacific road called Great Ocean Road. Nice views, incredible cliffs and total change of atmosphere. Beautiful beaches with white sand. It starts about 100 kilometers from Melbourne so you need at least 2 days there! Everything is well organised and people are charming.
KOALA
We stayed in a small hotel because there are only small villages and no big palace The owners were so nice that in the morning they took us to several places in order to see the koalas.
At the end we saw some of them.
They eat eucalyptus leaves and as a result they sleep 20 hours a day.
