Aquatic

Venice is the only city where one can feel land sickness! Personally I love to avail bus on water (Vaporetto) while I hate to do it on land: staying outside the craft and watching the places passing, gondolas, Riva, public water services, what could be more magnificent natural sceneries? 10/10.

Aesthetic

Instead of HLM bars, there are also palaces bars reflecting on the water and when there is a beautiful light, that’s simply magical. We are in the midst of the most beautiful city in the world. 10/10.

Poetic
Take a turn of a bridge, discover the life on water, catch sight of those perched high terraces which were serving the Venetian ladies over time to acquire this particular blondness which bears their names, sneak into an alleyway and come out of water. Wonderful! 10/10.

Pleasant
This might be surprising but I find the Venetian people gentle and friendly.  This is rare for a city also known as ‘tourist’ city and thus is worth mentioning! 8/10.

Intolerable
I think for the people of Venice this perpetual invasion must be unbearable.  Of course, the city depends partly on this activity, but I think sometimes it must be unbearable even for them as they have their own lives like anywhere else. 5/10.

Expensive
It is understandable but not as expensive as is exaggerated. One can find hotels and restaurants here at affordable prices.  However, Florian’s ‘musical hours’ is to be avoided (when the orchestra plays it is much more expensive). Bellini du Harry’s Bar is anything but cheap (but very good) and the spaghetti with tomato on the terrace at Gritti Palace is the most expensive in the world. 7/10.

Arty
Do not miss Prada Foundation (check the opening time) and Grassi Palace which shows temporary exhibitions of François Pinault Foundation (as well as Punta della Dogana). 9/10.
