In Melbourne I do recommend the QT hotel because in particular of its atmosphere and breakfast.

This a very special thing in Melbourne. People love Rooftops and there are full from 6 pm to the night! Inter alia visit Blossom Rooftop and the QT!

SHOPPING

 

If not shopping is nice, we went to many casual wear shops.
I still have many socks from there. Melbourne is quite trendy !

ARTY

 

Melbourne is may be the capital of the street art. Do not miss Hosier lane, AC/DC Lane, Blender lane and Paynes Place (you will discover Bansky works also). Behind doors you will find arty workshop and strange bars like houses the wall of some streets are very artistically painted and you can see that we enjoyed that!

Go to the Birrarung Maarr (along the river).

FOOD

 

Dont forget to visit the Queen Victoria Market. One of the best place in the world for food! Nice restaurants and very nice Italian restaurants in particular at Bourke Street Mall (Il Carretto, Il Bacaro, Foglia di Fico and Cia Amore). 

Have also a brunch at Fitzroy  open till 5pm!

GREAT OCEAN ROAD

 

Its was quite a long journey but along the road we stop to see the birds and we finally reached a place where you see the twelve Apostles: eight big limetones block  emerging from the ocean. Stunning. Finally we went back through the tropical forest without any problem and get to the airport in order to go to our next stops Adélaïde and Kangaroo island. In Australia everything is so well organized that dropping a car and checking in at the airport takes five minutes. To a point that you wonder if you forgot something!
