MODERN
It seems that everything, or almost everything, is brand new!
I however manage to take picture of an old building: the building of the newspaper The Guardian! The Harbour is big with beautiful yachts. The Sky Tower offers a splendid view on the harbour and the bridge and the city is full of cafes and bars. The parks are quite wide and you will find there the Wintergardens: nice gardens! The main attraction is this combination of beaches, towering skyscrappers , volcanic islands and magical hikes.
CHIC
The city has a vibrant shopping and dining scene. People are quite sophisticated although less friendly than the Australians! If I may say ? It offers a wide range of employment and commercial opportunities. The city also has a very good quality health and education systems. It’s a mix of city sophistication and natural playground. It’s considered as a student-friendly city.
CHER
Auckland is considered as a very expensive city. However I did not suffer from that and I dont know if it is that true.
COOL
People are not unagreable and visiting the city is quite easy. Stay in Central Auckland and visit the Viaduc Harbour, the Waterfront, the Myers Park, Parc Albert, The commercial Bay and Britomart. Visit the Civic Theatre, Town Hall, Actea Square and Auckland Art Gallery.
NOISY
People in restaurant don’t talk. They really do shout. Once we were in an Indian chic restaurant but we left because of the noise.
We always went to terraces or Japanese restaurants where the atmopshere was much calmer.
AIRPORT
Very clean and you have bathrooms available with showers. Very nice even if I did not use them !
