VILLA IGEIA
That beautiful palazzo dates back from the very end of the nineteenth century and was built by the Florio a rich Sicilian family in relation with their daughter Igeia suffering from tuberculosis.
It became quickly the place to be for the royals and its Liberty style ( architect Basile ) conquered the whole planet including the one of movies. I had the pleasure to be there 20 years ago and now and it was and still is magnificent. The Rocco forte touch does add the feeling of the luxury of today, Not to be missed if you stay in Palermo.
MUSCIARA RESORT
That charm hotel is located in Syracuse and can accommodate a reasonable number of people even if you always have a feeling of exclusivity. Its private beach should be a model for many with its couches, sofas, saloon, corners and calm. Not to forget good taste. The restaurant is perfect and cocktails are a must. Deco is quite a success, service is agréable and the owners are friendly .
LA PIGNA
La Pigna is a nice restaurant in Ortigia the historic center of Syracuse . The food is excellent and the cook ( a lady) is quite chic . Try the mixed entrees and pasta with lobster.

ASTERIA
You can contact that restaurant located on the Plemirio in front of Syracuse . They will send to you at the port a kind of floating room with sofas. They will bring you to the blue grotte or to the end of Plemirio and offer you Prosecco. Would you need one more a speed boat will bring it in a second. At the restaurant the food is fresh and delicious. To be done !
NEAPOLIS
That ensemble of architecture and grottes from the Greek and Roman times is located in a beautiful and well maintained parc ornemented since 2013 by modern artworks beautifully styled . During spring you can attend events in the context of the Greek theatre with a very classical programme from the time of the Greeks.
LEONE ANTICHITA
You should not miss that extraordinary shop full of treasures ( broches, necklaces, rings, earrings….) found by her owner!
I bought myself a lot of pieces some dating from the thirties or fourties and some from the nineteenth century ( beginning and end) !
Famous are going there often including Mike Jagger and Catherine Deneuve.
MERCATO & BURGIO

That little shop in a small street perpendicular to via Cavour is specialised in biscuits made from almonds and pistachios Home made, fresh and delicious . Bring some back for gifts and for the memory
