To say ‘goodbye’ to 2019 and say ‘hello’ to 2020, we decided to organize this trip to the Maldives including a stop-off of a few days in Abu Dhabi, mentioned above.
WHAT TO DO?
Arriving a few hours before New Year's Eve in Abu Dhabi, we settled into our room (Hotel Saint-Regis on the 44th floor) where we enjoyed an exceptional view of the surroundings (very similar to the ‘Promenade des Anglais’ in Nice) and a fabulous view of the spectacular fireworks that lit up the sea and skies.
Must – sees : the Great Skeikh Zayed Mosque, the Louvre, a desert excursion (Al Ain and its region, the historic cradle of the Emirate) with a panorama of dunes as far as the eye can see and, finally, a dinner organized at sunset.
The Maldives : Here we are in 2020 and heading to the Maldives! We had chosen the Four Seasons resort on the island of Kuda Huraa (about an hour by boat from the capital, Malé). The hotel takes care of everything from the moment you land at the airport to the last second before departure. We were fortunate to have a Water-Suite. A genuinely small villa on stilts, with direct access to the lagoon and its private infinity pool... on the sea. Warm sun and blue sea equals a life of true relaxation.
Unsurprisingly,
being in a very nice establishment with perfect service (equipment, staff, food ...). we did not leave this little corner of paradise during our ten day sojourn.

We simply cannot think of a better way to start a new year!!!
